Ultrasound, Ultrasquirm

We went in for an ultrasound today. Here's the full series of shots.

PTBNL spent most of the time squriming; the ultrasound operator struggled a bit with trying to get the baby to hold still. The measurements, when calculated, showed the baby to have a size cooresponding with a 19 week, 2 day old fetus. Susan's long argument with the doctors over the due date is over, and she was closer to right than they were -- the ultrasound points to an April 8 delivery date, closer to Susan's original calculation of April 10 and more than a week ahead of the original doctor's stubborn and condescendingly offered April 17.

At the moment, it's a textbook sort of pregnancy. Things change, but we appear to be in good shape right now.

The midwife appointment went off just fine as well. No real problems, and Susan was reassured that she was getting enough protein despite not having consumed the "heifer-a-day" recommendation of certain people in the medical community.

The hospital was also testing some new ultrasound equipment, so we volunteered PTBNL to model it (or, rather, I goaded Susan into it. :) ) Very slick, very high-tech machines with Doppler-based motion rendering and a bunch of other stuff that sounded like they were trying to sell the hospital a weather radar.

So, PTBNL is on track. We do know the sex, by the way, and we're not telling.
